First time out, and it is a tight fit. |
Made it, next stop Hartford Illinois. |
The loading gang. This part of the mission accomplished. |
Vicki Koeppe and me collaborated to get this flag made
for “Best friend”. We used the Gary Lucy research material for
this one. |
Just pulling out for our first appearance in Hartford
Illinois. |
Frank Koeppe, my trucker who delivers all my boats with
his nephew at Guthrie Center school. |
While on there way to Hartford with “Best
Friend”, Frank and Vicki Koeppe swung into the Guthrie Center school
with nine tons of boat, nine tons of trailer, and there semi (the big
green machine) and ask if the school would like a living history
program. The school dismissed for the afternoon and the kids climbed
all over Best friend while Frank portrayed Corpl. Richard worfington
and told them about Lewis and Clark. |
Just arrived at Camp river Dubois, Hartford, Illinois. |

All set up at Hartford and ready for visitors. |

After Hartford, we went to one other event then back to
the lake to launch her for the first time. |
Almost wet for the first time. |
Almost off the trailer. |
First time afloat, draft is 15 inches! Not bad for a
nine ton boat. |
First visitors while afloat. |
| |

First time under way, I’m at the tiller evidently
barking orders or singing, who knows. |
