Her next appearance was at the Fort Atkinson Signature event. She made history when she was selected as the stage for the official release of the new keelboat nickel by the U S Mint. She was given a blue skirt and her decks were readied for some distinguished speakers. | ||||||

An armored car with $75,000.00 worth of nickels came in and was readied for the first day release to coin collectors from all over the country. | ||||||

“Best Friend’s” decks welcomed the likes of Gary Moulton and the Governor of Nebraska as well as top officials from the US Mint. | ||||||
 |
After the release, many folks took an opportunity for photos aboard. | ||||||
|
Her next stop would be Bismarck and a voyage into the history books. |
